The Silky is carefree, lovable, merry and comical, he understands everything you do and say (mine are mind readers too) they love to be part of the family young or old, it does not matter whether you are out for a long walk or just sat before the fire, so long as they are with you they are happy.

They never fail to attract attention because of their beauty and vivacious nature. They love to feel proud, will stand for as long as you are prepared to caress their silken gown. One very important bonus is that they do not shed their coat, they lose about the same amount of hair as we do when combing our hair also they do not have doggy odour as other dogs do, and have been proved valuable companions for sufferers of asthma.

The Silky Terrier is a carefully constructed cocktail of varying breeds, the Australian Terrier, a small rough coated Terrier and the Yorkshire Terrier which was used to develop the two coat colours - blue and tan. His coat grows to about 5" in length, which gives a layered coat, it should not reach the floor like the Yorkie but follow the contour of the body.
